No — GC Prep is independent exam preparation, not the official exam. The actual exams are administered by PSI Exams (for VA), the testing center designated by MHIC (for MD), NYC DCWP (for New York City), and the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs. GC Prep's questions are modeled on the same statutes and regulations the licensing authorities enforce so you walk in knowing the material cold.

Standard access is 120 days from the date of purchase — plenty of time to study, pass, and come back for a refresh. Lifetime access is also available for each module if you prefer a permanent reference. Access starts the moment your payment is confirmed.

Yes — GC Prep is fully mobile-optimized. Study on your phone during a commute, on a tablet between jobs, or on a desktop at home. No app install required. Sign in with your Google account from any device and your progress syncs automatically.

Sign in with your Google account to start practicing. After purchase, full access unlocks instantly — no new username or password to create. Sign-in takes about 10 seconds and your progress is saved from that point forward.

Yes. After 8 hours of active study time, GC Prep issues a completion certificate with a unique verification ID. The certificate includes your name, the date, the module completed, and a public verification link at gcprep.app/verify/[id] — useful as a personal study record and for employers or managers tracking team prep. It is not a substitute for state-required pre-license or continuing education; confirm requirements with your state's licensing agency and use an approved provider for credit. (Virginia applicants: GC Prep’s DPOR-approved six-hour pre-license education course is a separate product with its own completion certificate.) Score 90%+ on any section and you can also opt into the GC Prep Honor Roll — a public badge listed for 30 days; score 100% on all sections and you earn the FLAWLESS distinction for 90 days.

No. GC Prep is an independent exam preparation platform operated by MASONBYTE LLC, a veteran-owned small business based in Accokeek, Maryland. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way connected to the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, Virginia DPOR, NYC DCWP, or any other licensing authority.

Yes — the DMV Triple Pack covers Maryland, Virginia, and DC in one purchase at $59.98 for lifetime access. It's our Buy 2 Get 3 promo — pay for two states, the third’s on us. A Tri-State Northeast bundle (NJ + NY + PA) is in development.

Each person studies on their own GC Prep account. If your company wants every employee's licenses and renewal dates in one place, that is what Renew's Company console does. See Renew → For anything else, contact us.
